Good Sail Loft, NJ or Annapolis

I used Moorehouse in South Jersey for years. Skip retired and sold the business. I haven't heard great things about the new owners.

So I'm looking for recommendations for a good sail loft.

Does anyone have experience with Linthicum Sailmakers in Somerdale, NJ?

Anyone really pleased with a loft in Annapolis (I'll drive to get someone I can trust).

This winter I just need to get the sails cleaned and some minor repairs. But I want to find someone I can work with down the road.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Good Sail Loft, NJ or Annapolis

Jim, I was using Eggers Sails in South Amboy for years until they closed. I have my sails in at North Sails on Route 34 now for cleaning and some minor stitching. They get a lot of business from my yard and everyone is pleased. Years ago these folks had a loft in Point Pleasant called Shore sails. I used them then with success when I was on BB.

A few years ago, Sean (T37) chef ripped his mainsail heading north, Henry turned it around in a few hours for him. 732 528-6565

Jim,

Brad Linthicum was recommended to me by my local Hobie dealer (who has experience in many more sailboats than Hobies). I've used Brad for years with no complaints.

Chesapeake Sails in Annapolis....Chuck O'Malloy....I heard they are offering a 30% winter discount.....not sure if its true but worth checking out.
We have been very happy with this sail loft.

Re: Good Sail Loft, NJ or Annapolis

Jim,

I'm in central Jersey and also used Eggers, so I ended up sending my Jib to Doyle on Long Island for repairs, shipping was only about $45 for a C&C 35 genny. Shipping is not that much if you pack tightly and don't send too far.
