The boat I am about to buy has a SEA 2550 HF radio. Does anyone have experience in settig this specific radio up for email?

Thanks.

Mike, I'd suggest two phone calls:

To Farallon Electronics, the US reps for the Pactor modems. You'll need one.
Odds are Farallon will lead you through everything .

To SEA who make the radio, for a manual. Always good to have on hand.

And a web visit to the SailMail folks or your vendor of choice.

Might a well go straight to the sources, yes?

Ditto on Farallon service. They walked me through my whole install of Pactor/sailmail (after fixing me up with the right cables for my radio) and then got on their SSB to exchange e-mails with me to make sure everything worked. Recommended.
To be fair...I've also heard good things from SSCA members about Docksideradio who posted some helpful advice a page or two back and is based in Florida.
