Salon table
Any tip on how to secure salon table firmly to the cabin floor? Any advice most welcome.

Do you want the salon table to be easily removable or not? Asking how to secure it without giving more details about how the table is built, how the base is made, and what it is made of, and what your purpose is in doing so is pretty useless.

A generic answer would be bolts through the salon sole, backed by a heavy backing plate, so that if someone were to hit the table, when the boat heels over, it doesn't get torn out of the sole and become a projectile.

If you want it to be easily removable, your best bet is to make the base with two slots that go under two permanently installed bolts and then have bolts or twist-lock connectors hold down the other side.

Of course both of these attachment methods assume that the base of the table has a fairly substantial metal plate to attach it to the cabin sole.

Many thanks sailingdog. I apologize for the incomplete info, but the reason for that was that I simply don't quite know yet. I guess it will have a wooden folding top, with two metal legs and it will be permanent. However your reply prompted another question. Will the sole take the impact of someone falling onto the table with his/her full weight? Do I need to apply some extra reinforcement to this part of the sole?
