2 part polyurethane paint

Interlux Interthane Plus states temperatures must be 10 deg C or 50 deg F or above. The Interlux Web site indicates the product can if necessary be applied below those temps by using the Spray version of the thinner and very thin coats. Interlux Tech Support says that originates from UK and they don''t want people doing it.

Anyone have any experience with this or thoughts? Are there temps outside this range that are still acceptable?

I have been told temps affect drying times mostly.

Does the benefit of the extra curing time outside during winter in Northeast outweighing curing times of warmer temps 1 or two weeks prior to launch in Spring?

Thanks,

Mike Hoyt

I suspect that the temperature affects levelling and freedom from runs in addition to set up time. Two-part polyurethanes are great as far as useful lifetime.
