Outfitting a 94 MacS to cross the gulfstream

Has anyone crossed on a MacS/C? How did you outfit your boat for crossing? Suggestions appreciated.

There was a funny article in a past issue of Spinsheet that talked about a couple guys who went to the Bahamas in two Mac 26sx''s. Spinsheet can be found at http://www.spinsheet.com/

They did a variety of modifications in terms of equipment. I believe that they added tankage and a heavy dose of electronic gear. They went over in pretty flat conditions and so had few problems.

There was also a fellow that posted on one of the BB''s (I think it was this one in its prior format). He had gone out of Ft. Lauderdale and had ended up pretty far north. He took a bad knockdown coming across damaging lifelines and stanchions and the deck where they were fastened. He had other damage but I don''t recall what it was.
