Watermaker????

I hope y'all don't mind my questions, I sure apreciate the answers. Boats are far from new to me but this is my first sailboat. So it has been used as a liveaboard for some time. I suspect the watermaker has not been used. After reading a bunch here I see they do not like to sit. What should I expect/ look for if it is infact not working?

Wildcard...if it has been sitting a while and you do not know if the previous owner pickled it...don't even try to run it. Contact the mfr. or visit the mfr. website and download the instruction manual which will give you re-commissioning and replacement parts info and procedures. Each is different but you can ruin things by starting up a unit that has been sitting too long.
