OK People's, question if you had a chance to change all you through hull valves (I have more thant 16) would you install bronze or Marelon? Yes I will reduce my count during my haulout. If I take the Marelon option I will still retain the actual Bronze throughhull pipe. Ok then let the opinions fly and thanks in advance..... by the way a great of my planning is comming from the feedback I am getting from here so be gentle.... smile

There is strong consensus among knowledgable boating people to not mix marelon and bronze fittings; so if you are planning to keep the bronze through hull, you should probably stay with bronze.
Personally I would trust bronze a bit more than marelon, though the latter has come along way.

A lot also depends on your boat and what the hull is made of. If the hull is aluminum or steel, I'd go with the Marelon as the galvanic corrosion issues are fewer. While Marelon has come a long way, it also depends where your going to be sailing. In colder waters, I'd stick with bronze, as the galvanic issues are usually less aggressive and the Marelon, IIRC, doesn't do as well in low temperatures.
