Does Anyone Have Suggestions To Increase The Time Between Defrosting Boat Refrigeration Freezers? I Remember My Mother Had Some Solutions But Those Have Been Lost In Time.
If you keep the icebox full (full with water bottles, or empty bottles, or styrofoam or bubblewrap, anything) then less air gets into it every time you open the lid. Less air means less moisture, which means less ice and longer intervals between defrosting.
Whether keeping it full of "things that can freeze" like full bottles, or using empty bottles, is better...YMMV.
I like TXS's solution... as long as you've got propane or charcoal for the bbq grill.
