Carefully heat and, if you have to scrape, use plastic or hardwood. The little plastic reusable epoxy stirring sticks have a good bevel on the end. Easy to make one, by mitering a small piece of hardwood trim. Hope heat alone works.
Get a "vinyl eraser wheel"... Will chuck up in a drill or mount in an angle grinder. Pick up at local automotive paint store, online, or sometimes at the local big-box.
I used heat on mine and it worked like a charm--just don't overdo it. I replaced it with a gold vinyl that looks like gold leaf and has held up beautifully. It was expensive though.
Just did this -- gentle heat and a single-edge razor blade (carefully). Afterwards, I used some acetone on a 3M Scotchbright pad to get rid of the leftover adhesive. Acetone worked far better than GooGone.
+1 on the acetone. One thing I have found is you will use lots of rags, maybe soften it up with a sctochbrite sponge to soften then rags, as the rags fill up get a new rag it needs to transfer the adhesive to the rag when the rag is full its full.
I've used a hairdryer and a plastic paint scraper.
