tedsbeds is on a distinguished road
Years ago I bought a"MAST LADDER" or I think that was the name. It was a nylon webbing ladder that was fitted with sail slides. You fitted it into the mast track and haauled it up with the main halyard. It allowed you to climb the mast unassisted. I wore my Liskaris harness and wrapped the tether around the top of the mast when I reached the top. The ladder roled up into a nylon bag when not in use. If you are a DIY alot I would get one.

ATN top climber or similar ascending gear is another alternative. Given your size and weight (only a bit smaller than me!) tedsbeds suggestion or the top climber might be handy to have around when big friends aren't!

Sorry I could not reply earlier was in Mexico City the last couple days, before in Chile and before that in Puerto Rico...unfortunatly all traveling by air...

Anyway, the comment that was most interesting was about finding a 20 year old bunny to climb my mast (the mast), either way I am in trouble, in a good way...! , I will be looking hard for this, especially on a hot summer day wearing daisy dukes...!

One reason for buying a sailoat that has good berthing caracteristics is so I have a place to goto with a (bunny) and party a little.

"heres to wifes and sweethearts....and may they never meet...!!!" (master and cammander...)

Well back to the subject, yes my halyard or roller furling system is broke at the top and I will go up tomorrow to try and straighten it out. I am a lean 220 now, and my brother is a muscular 240 or so with a low center of gravity. I think he will have no problem hoisting me up the mast under his own strength...!!!

thanks guys it is always a pleasure talking with you about bunnies...I mean sailing topics...!

blt2ski will become famous soon enough
You might also try a 4-1 purchase pulley system to get yourself up, along with a winch. Works a lot better than a windh by itself, at least with my boat and #16 winches. I can pull myself at 225 or so up by myself.

Well I finally went up the mast with my brothers help...it was not that bad until the 15kt wind picked up and then it became interesting.

Well I am in the process of repairing my problem...with some luck...only 2 more trips up the mast this weekend...!
