I have a GPSmap 478 that I bought last year. With only the standard (flip-up) antenna it receives through the fiberglass cabin, and the dodger - no problem. I'm very happy with the visibility of the 2" x 3" color display in both daylight and night. Since it is portable and includes all the US road maps, (as well as the entire US coast) and because I travel for work, I am writing it off as a business expense
