S2 11.0A Lexan Window Replacement

Am considering a project where the 1/8 inch lexan windows (3 on each side) are replaced with opening ports. This would involve removing the old lexan, glassing in the openings, reinforcing as needed, and cutting holes to install the new ports. Has anyone done this? What is the cost? It would make the boat more blue water capable.

Hey Sail, Where I come from you are taking a pretty foolproof system and trading it for leak prone weaker portlights. If you are just trying to increase ventilation, you might consider installing deck hatches and/or dorades which don't have quite as many leak problems as a rule. As with any project on a boat, as long as you have sufficient M&M's go for it.
