Fairing compound?

I've got some small chips in the gel coat on my rudder that expose the fiberglass beneath. What should I use to cover them? Some sort of fairing compound?

I have used Marine Tex with success--it is a simple to mix/use 2 part epoxy substance that can be sanded, painted, etc.

I have some marine tex. But that seemed too simple and cheap to be a reasonable solution. I'm happy to hear that it can be.
