I guess I'm not understanding your point. Are you simply pointing out the differences in strength/stiffness between prop shaft materials or are you saying Newport 41 "A" is likely to have a different shaft diameter than Newport 41 "B"?

I think he is saying that it is unlikely that the Newport 41 is going to have a shaft diameter other than the standard 1-1/8" but that it is possible that it could. Unless the boat in question was re-powered and had the shaft changed out...it will most likely be 1-1/8" as you've said.
