oil pump

saw an oil pump in west marine that hooks to a drill, it was only about $25. Do these work or just junk.

These drill operated pumps can be unbelievably messy and much more complicated than what it necessary to get the oil out of the crankcase and into a receptacle. One of the best things I have ever purchased for engine maintenance is the Top Sider Vacuum Oil Changer, cost $35. No batteries, no moving parts to replace, no electrical power needed, no loose hoses or containers needed, it''s all there. Both Boatus and West sell them. The kiss theory applies here....keep it simple stupid!
