Question New prop

I have been reading about a feathering composite prop called. KIWI PROP. On line recomendations are positive but are from the company website. The US price is listed as $1250. Does anyone have any experience with this prop?

Hey Texas,

Why not just keep the old 3-Blade?? You cannot prop-walk with most folders. Of course, many people do not like prop walk, so maybe that is a reason?? I guess you will pick up some speed with it though. Personally, I need all the prop walk I can get to park my tub... especially since the wind is always blowing off the dock!!

Wink Kiwi prop

I don't have a three blade prop, just two blades. When I back down, I turn in circles even with the wheel in the opposite direction. I just keep circling until the bow is pointed where I want and then shift into forward. If I'm really, really careful, I can back-in real, real slowly.

Do you really turn circles?? Wow! I punch it and it just jumps to port a bit (in reverse). Great for coming into the dock. I have always had 3 blades. You could buy a 3 and keep you 2 blade for that accidnetal encounter with the reef or bottom.

I have heard a lot of positive reviews about most folding props if that is your direction... but since I have no first hand experience, I will say no more and let others with first-hand answer. Take care.

Talking

Mine swings her hips to starboard and squashes fenders. One spring out, engage slow-ahead full port-rudder and she sqeezes up to the pontoon while I wander round leisurely deploying the other lines. Doesn't work port side too though.
