Backstay Adjusters

I am in the market for an integral backstay adjuster. I've narrowed my search to the Halmatro and Navtec units. I have heard good things about both, but I am curious to know if anyone has experience with either? I'd also like to hear any other thoughts anyone may have about the two units. Thanks.

BRG-

It would help if you said what kind of boat you're going to be using the backstay adjuster on, and whether you have a split backstay or not. Different types of backstay adjusters are better suited for certain purposes than others... so without the context, it is hard to say whether it is going to be suitable or not.

Can't speak to Halmetro, but owned a "crusified" IOR 2 tonner for about 12 years with early '80s Navtec hydraulics (Backstay, vang & outhaul). Over that time only had to service the outhaul cylinder which had siezed. We had no problems with any other parts, including the pump unit.

The boat is a Sabre 34, rod rigging, and does not have a split backstay. Thanks.
