Deck Drain Replacement?

My Canadian-built 36' Cabot sailboat seems to have metric threads on the stainless deck drains, where I need to screw on a fitting ending in a 1-1/2" hose barb. I'm trying to decide whether I should give up on the quirky stainless (I can't find anything that will screw on to it) and go to Marelon deck drain fittings.

Marelon are going to be lower maintenance. Might as well switch them out...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Even in Canada metric fittings for that sort of thing are rare. I'd switch them out too. Too bad the whole world can't switch to metric. Everything is based on water and units that multiply by ten. So much easier.
