LetraSan power draw on standby

Anybody happen to know the current draw for a LectraSan (2yrs old) on standby (i.e. connected and ready to go but in between cycles)?

I can't seem to find info at raritan.com and the manuals only give information on current draw during a use cycle.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Offhand I don't believe there is any power draw, mine has no lamps or panels that remain lit while on standby. Power comes on when the unit is triggered by a flush or button push.

MKF,

Where did you put the Lectrasan on the 400? We have considered that too, just not sure where to put it...

I like the idea of the LectraSan, but it doesn't really do any good if you're in a NDZ, like Buzzards Bay. Even with it.. still have to use the holding tank.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Electrosan has no draw when off/standby.

A LectraSan can be used in most waters...where there is some tide etc. It needs salt, so if there isn't enough salt in the water you have to add it. And it removes most bacteria and viruses - essentially all. But yes you still have to have a holding tank for no discharge areas and then can empty it when you are out of the ND area.

I have heard (and thus assumed) the power use is two amps per flush. As far as I know it isn't doing anything to draw power other than during the cycle which takes a couple of minutes.

Our is installed in the bow...as is the small non-Lectrasan holding tank.

LectraSan location

Thanks for the information on the standby power draw. I suspected there wasn't much but I left the power switch on to the unit and wondered about long term draw on the batteries. I do have a wind generator so no worries about keeping the batteries happy--only other circuit enabled is the bilge pump/hi water alarm.

Regarding the location on my boat, I had to pull the forward holding tank because of a crack on the bottom of the tank, so that was the perfect place for the LectraSan. There was also a decent amount of space left over for storage--cut out an access panel below the seat and it's the perfect place for engine spare parts/filters/watermaker supplies. I still have the aft holding tank so I can be legal no matter where I go.

And to be precise, the unit uses about 2 to 2.5 amp-hours for a full cycle during which it draws around 40 amps or so for several minutes.

Cheers,
Mark
