Glazing lexan and painting aluminum

Looking for recommendations for the proper material to glaze lexan into a teak deck hatch. Also, while I'm at it....can anyone recommend a spray enamel that is tough enough to handle the marine environment??
I am in the process of refinishing an aluminum windlass body.

Thanks

They have a spray epoxy enamel that is used for appliance paint that would probably work quite well for you. They've used it down on some of the boats at my marina. I don't know what it is called though.

The teak is going to be the problem... Teak is an oily wood that many sealants have trouble bonding to. I would try one of the butyl rubber based gasket tapes that are commonly used in the auto industry rather than a marine sealant. The only sealant that seems to work well with teak, other than 5200, are the polysulfide-based ones, and polysulfide will attack the lexan IIRC. Try something like this.

SD - Thanks for the Hart Supply link. Not to far out of the way for me. They should have exactly what I need.

I'll check out some appliance places by me and let you know what I find....

Thanks

Alden-

The guys over at Hart are pretty good eggs... I think that stuff will work pretty well, but you should check with the guys there. BTW, where are you sailing out of/located. I'm down in Fairhaven, on the Acushnet river...

I will definitely check with them to get their input. I sail out of Salem harbor but I travel back and forth to the Cape quite a bit so Hingham is an easy stop.

Is the Acushnet where the USS Massachusetts is?

Nope, you're thinking of Battleship Cove, which is in Fall River.

If you need some assistance drop me a PM, since I live/work up in the Boston area, so you're probably not too far from me.

Great...I appreciate that.

Thanks.
