Awl Grip Polisher

Over the winter the awlgrip which is about 7 years old is slightly faded and appears oxidized. What product would be good to help bring back the shine?

I do not believe that Awlgrip actually fades it just gets marked up and dirty. They only recomend that you use soap and warm water to clean it, not abrasives at all. check thier site.

Awl Wash, and Awl Care.
But once its rubbed off or faded, it does not like to come back. Its paint.

Awlgrip and Alumagrip are the same polyester urethane paint with the except that Alumigrip is for aluminum aircraft uses. These paints are very hard and do not buff well at all, unlike Imron which is much softer. Imron doesn't last like Awlgrip though either. If the cleaner doesn't work, it's time for a wet sand and a color coat.

We have a boat with an old Awlgrip job on it (white) that looks pretty sad in the fall and winter but after a wash with Awlwash and hand polishing with Awlcare it does improve significantly. It doesn't quite have that 'wet' look but does look way better!

Ditto Driver...they help a lot but don't cure! If it is too far gone you might try a bit of wet sanding and some poliglow before you invest in another awlgrip job.
