Fuel Filter Cross Reference

I have, what is apparently an outdated brand of fuel filter, called CAV 296. It's a spin-on type with a glass sediment bowl, and no one seems to know what to replace it with. Anyone know anything about this brand? Most I could find out on the web is that it is also known as a Delphi, and was evidently originally made by Lucas.

Thanks,

Call up Racor... they may make a drop-in replacement for it... If the original company went under, Racor might have started making replacements for it to pick up the additional business.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Found that one already, looking for something a bit more local I just need the element that goes between the bowl and the mounting bracket. I'm finding English equivilents, but can't seem to find a cross reference back to any US makers, other than automobile applications.

You might want to consider replacing with a new RACOR after all having access to replacement elements is a good thing.
