Quick question - bilge pump float switch
I have installed a new bilge pump, with float switch, in my soggy bilge. The only problem is that the float switch, well, floats. I'm disinclined to poke a hole in my hull by screwing it to the bottom. What's the best way to attach the float switch base?

After you have dried out the bilge. epoxy a mount to the bottom of the bilge for your float switch.

Also if you have found the hole where the water is coming in. Drill a hole next to it for the water to flow out. :rofl

Isn't that what elmer fudd did??

One of the better ways to mount a float switch is to mount it to a long, skinny vertical board or piece of PVC pipe. Then you can use screws or other methods to mount the board or pipe in a location that positions the float switch where it needs to be. The bilge pump should be mounted to the same board/pipe. That way, if you need to service it, you can just pull it up and work on it.

Our bilge is fairly deep, so we attached the switch to piece of aluminum in the shape of a "L". The top of the "L" is just under the engine and the weight keeps it from floating and allows us to easily remove it from the bilge.
