Question Backstay Hyd. Adjuster(Stearn)

I have a problem with the backstay adjuster. I have been advised that the mfr. is no longer in business. There fore, no parts and no details for severing the unit. The problem started as a leak around the shaft. I wa able to find "O" Rings to correct the leak, however refilling the unit with hadraulic fluid has/is the problem. Any suggestions??

I don't know where you are located but I would contact Florida Rigging and Hydraulics. Florida Rigging & Hydraulics - Welcome
They did a great job on my fathers out of date backstay adjuster.

There is probably an industrial hydraulics company nearby that can re-fill the unit with hydraulic fluid of the right type.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
