The
jib tack should attach to the bow tang right behind your forstay. Your
jib halyard should have a length of wire probably about a foot long with 4 or 5 furrells/beads on it. You attach the wire end of the halyard to the
jib and hoist... the beads will go through the halyard block and should clip into the hook on the mast? Does this make sense? If you don't have the wire part on your
jib halyard one should be able to be made easy enough. The
Jib does not hank to the "forstay" the true forstay is the wire in the luff. You should raise the
jib before the main. By having someone pull the "forstay" and mast toward eachother you can get the
jib halyard clipped into one of the higher beads... this will put more tention in your
rig. By adjusting your sidestay chainplates and mast step position prior to raising your
jib, you control rake. Hope this helps a little.
