yes, another solar power question....26' c&c
26 feet, no cooler, just vhf, some interior lights etc, the outboard is a 9.9 with an alternator and electric start. The boat has 2 batteries. The marina that the boat will be staying at has NO shorepower. The boat will be only used on weekends. I like to listen to radio, either mp3, or XM, a little louder than average. What kind of solar panels, what capacity would you recommend?
Probably something like this, LINK, would work quite well for you.
The 400 or 1200 model. If the lights are not LED, I'd go with the 1200 model.
A single 40 watt Kyocera panel would allow you to run a Koolatron or something similar on the hook while keeping your existing batteries happy. With your existing set-up, it's probably prudent to keep your batteries a touch oversized anyway to reduce deep cycles, and to consider AGMs to reduce testing and filling due to the fact that it will get hot on board in the summer.
