Compass Oil Leak

So, I noticed the compass oil going down in the compass, so I pulled the compass from the pod over the companionway, and sure enough, the plug to hold in the oil located at the back of the compass is gone. Its a suunto compass, I think a B-116 (they look the same). I have yet to find the plug, but it has to be there.

Do I need a new compass? Can I just add more oil? What type of oil is in the compass? If I cannot get a replacement plug, could I just make one with some cork and caulk, its about a 1/8 in. hole?

I would appreciate any comments.

There were a couple of recent threads on this subject. Here's one of them.
