electronic questions - Help please!!

New to me boat is in the water - most things are fine. I have the white plastic thru-hull depth sounder transducer, but no depth sounder display (I knew the old one was old / possibly not working, but it was not even aboard the boat when I purchased it - I believe it was a Raymarine (approx 5" diameter, mounted on the pedestal. Seeing that large display depth displays seem very expensive, I purchased a new 2" uniden, with an in-hull transducer / puck (as their thru-hull option was different than mine, and would have required major work). Can I use my current transducer, wired to the new display, or should I set up the new puck instead? (have solid hull)

Next, I have a Yamnmar 2GM, raw water cooled, with no gauges, only a buzzer. I would like to connect a tach and water temp gauge. I know that the temp sensor works, as I did set off the buzzer once.
What do I need / where do I connect to make this work? The small yanmar panel / engine key is in the cockpit.

Where / how would I connect the tach?

Finally, I may break down and get a lewmar v700 vertical windlass later - approx $700, but would like to ad a bow roller now, as the anchor / mount catches the sail. I have a danforth type anchor, but would like a roller that could take a new style Manson or Ronca, in case I go that route later. Suggestions? boat is 30', 8600lbs
How

camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough
1. Set up the new puck...transducers are not interchangeable.
2. Suggest you contact MackBoringCo. for specific advice on a tach or engine panel for your 2GM. Contact Us

Parts Phone: 908-964-0706

Parts Fax: 908-964-6725

Email: parts@mackboring.com

3. Here's a good guide to available types of anchor rollers. The right one for you will depend not only on your anchor choice but also your on-deck configurations and distance to the windlass you propose to get as well.

Cam - Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if transducers were interchangable.

I will make a call re: adding tach.

Re: the anchor roller, something like the URM-1 looks like it would hold my current ancohr,as well as Plows, Delta's etc - Do you think that the new style Manson or Ronco would fit as well - To my amature eye, they look like a plow type anchor. Thoughts?? I have reasonable space on deck for a windlass, and there is no anchor locker, etc in the way. The roller would have to be offset, to avoid the RF drum / headstay.

Ken - Thanks as well. I will check my book - I don't have it with me either. I wasn't sure if the tach sensor would be on the engine, or on something like the alternator. Or, if any aftermarket tach / sensor would do.
