Thinking of upgrading to the new Standard Horizon cp300. Can anyone share their experience with this unit.

How viewable is the display in bright sunlight ... any pros or cons

Looks like a good deal for the money. Just be sure the C-map carts for your intended cruising area are suitable. I have been most UNHAPPY with them for the Bahamas but quite happy with the US maps.

Cam, according to CMap they have been upgrading their Bahamas maps every year for the past few years. What year do you have?

I have the 5 year OLD ones and they have JUST come out with Explorer charts after taking an intermediate side trip ...so they should be great now. My point was not about the Bahamas...but about the sources used for charts of whatever area you sail in. Do the research beforehand so you are not disappointed as I was. If it is US waters only...then I think everyone is fine.

Thanks, Cam, I agree it is important to check out the charts for the areas in which you intend to sail. I intend to sail to the Bahamas next winter and just wanted to confim my information.
