Question black spot on teak

Hope you can help

I have the deck in the cockpit and seats finished in teak deck. About 6 months ago black spots started to appear. Cleaned and brightened the teak and alll was well for a period but now the black spots are coming back

any suggestions to remove them and keep them away

The black spots are a type of mold and will always come back as long as it is moist. One trick is to wash with salt water. I believe that keeps the mold out if you want to keep the teak natural. Otherwise you can coat it with varnish or other coating which will require regular maintenance. That's the thing with boats...

You can get rid of the black spots by bleaching the wood. However, it is a type of mold.... and you will either need to keep the wood dry or keep it soaked with salt water....the salt is poisonous to the mold...
