my 9.9 mercury outboard has no spark

Hey guys' my 9.9 horse mercury outboard dosn't have any spark. neither cylinder. It's a 2 stroke. a 94 year modle. I hoped Some else might shed some light on the likely cause. I would assume that it's not the coils, because there are seperate coils for each cylinder, and neither plug will spark. I'm not sure what ignition system I have, and I don't want to buy the manual. so if you know what I should check next, I would appreciate the advice.

I didn't want to buy the manual, either, but eventually, I bought the manual. You see where I'm going with this, right?
