I''m considering purchasing an autowheel for a Cal 35 (II), either the Simrad WheelPilot 30 of the Raymarine ST4000 Plus MKII.

All sugestions are welcome.

I had an older ST4000 on my 30'' Cape Dory, which displaced around 13000 lbs if I remember correctly. It worked great if the wind was light but had a hard time when things picked up a bit. I now have a 45'' Jeanneau with a ST6000 below decks pilot that works great regardless of the conditions. I have a feeling that the combination of the newer 4000 autopilot with the fact that your CAL probably handles better than my old Cape Dory will make the 4000 an acceptable choice. Autopilots are a huge help...good move!
