cockpit cover material

I am planning to make me own cover for me boat. (I''m startin to sound like a pirate now.

I though of sunbrella material but am not sure if it is water resistant.

Need some expert advise on this.

I thought of buying it through the Sailnet
store but could not find it in the catalog pages.

Sunbrella is indeed waterproof/water resistant (and breathable) although the integrity of the waterproofing typicaly will last only a minimum of 5 years; thereafter, you should recoat with Apseal 303 - recommended by the manufacturer of Sunbrella. For purchase dont even think about getting Sunbrella through a ''boat store''. It''s ultimately better to get the material from a wholesale commercial distributor (one who deals directly with the upholstery trade)... although you will need ''cash on the barrel head''. Be aware that there are several grades of sunbrella.
