Deck / Cockpit Oxidation question.

Just purchased a 1994 Catalina 270, and there is slight oxidation (comes off on hand when wiped) on the upper portion of the boat (deck and cockpit). Is there a product that can be used? I see on some other threads that people recommend 3m Marine Fiberglass Restorer and Wax.

Due to the slight oxidation, is this product necessary? Or will a good washing and wax take care of this problem? Also, what is the best thing to use on the non-skid area?

I'd try the 3M Fiberglass Restorer and Wax, as it is a pretty good product. Woody Wax is what I would recommend for the non-skid.

If that does not do it, you might try some polishing compound or even rubbing compound. Your goal is to remove the oxidation that has already occurred and then wax it to protect it from future degradation. What's causing it to oxidized? UV light mostly.
