Exclamation Outboard Meltdown

My name is Todd and I have not sailed in over one week. Can you please come to my aid? My outboard is not spitting water and I need to change the impeller. The problem is that no one can seem to figure out what year the engine is and therefore I cannot order the needed part. I find this insane because its a standard Yamaha 9.9LH Nothing too rare about it.

Here is what info is on the plate:

9.9 LH
682C L (code)
373643 (serial #)

Any ideas of where i can decipher this code?

Thank you in advance!!

CArdiacPaul....

I have not dropped the lower unit yet because I want to find the year of the motor first so that i can order the part correctly. I have tried the quess match routine before and that did not work out so well. Thanks for the help though.

PBzer..... i spoke to Larry at the number you gave...real nice guy. I will be able to motor out of the lagoon agin in no time... he gave me part numbers and lots of helpful info. Thanks. Too bad Yamaha cut him off from ordering parts... he was just shy of 200K in sales and they have a minimum of 250k in sales....sounds like ******** to me...these smaller dealers can't compete anymore.
