Where do you buy a Cutlass Bearing ?

From what I have read elswhere on here it looks as though my cutlass bearing does indeed need replacing. Where does one purchase them ?
My boat is C&C 36 made under licence her in Brisbane, Australia in 1985. The builder has long since vanished.
What are they made of, plastic.....rubber......can they be made up ??

A cutlass bearing is made from a bronze tube with a hard rubber liner (for lack of a better description). They obviously need to be matched to your prop shaft diameter which is a standard dimension.

Most likely the dimensions of your cutlass bearing are a standard size.

Here are websites which sells them:

http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/Produ...oductID/103247

http://www.tacomapropeller.com/dept....1=6222&l2=6223

give them a shout and I am sure they can help you out.

You will need a tool to get it out and that may be more of a problem than getting the bearing. Depends on if it is a strut etc.

Fstbttms is on a distinguished road
Your local propeller repair facility should be able to provide any cutless bearing you need.
