I do love craigslist. To lazy at the moment to look up what a rebuild kit would cost, but I am sure you could get the engine for 100's under the asking price.

My boat has a universal m4-30 and it seems to be a pretty good little diesel.
It looks fairly similar to this one but has more cylinders
