Another Refrigeration Question

OK, here it is for you experts, or if you had any experience with this kind of thing.

My AC compressor took a dump. After 22 years, I guess it's time. I still have the engine compressor works fine.

The units drive 3 ea. 18"X18X3" evaporator plates, two in the freezer, one in the refrig. each box about 7 cu ft.

I'm looking at an $1,800 replacement, parts and labor for the compressor. I'm thinking of replacing the whole thing with an AC/Dc unit or units. Power is no problem, solars produce 16Aph with an 8 battery house bank.

So, what I was thinking is scrap the entire set-up, and go with the Alder-Barbour Super Cold Machine CU-200. My options here are, and I've got a question in to their tech dept. Can the CU-200 (which is rated at 15 cu ft) drive two evaporator plates in the freezer with a blow fan into the refrigerator.

Or, would it be better to go with two units, one plate each of the CU-100 again rated at 15 cu ft.

The set-up with the CU-200 would be around $1,100, with both units $1,800. In each case, the labor is mine.

This will be for tropical waters, water cooling won't help.

Any suggestions?
