Sail mending

I had a sail blow out, my sails are made of mylar (I believe)...has anyone patched this stuff before? It appears that the seam just came unraveled, but the edge of the seam is frayed. Also, does anyone know of a good sail maker in the Portland/Astoria area? I was off shore and trying to outrun a gale force storm when it blew, had to haul ass inland and am now in the mouth of the Columbia River. I also have two other sails I would like to have prepared for being rigged, I found them in the bottom of my lazarette, they're brand new but they don't have clips to be run up the stay.
