Yes, its silicone grease. I appreciate the info about the corn oil causing 'more' odor. The vinegar makes sense, I've seen some thick rock hard scaling so I'll give it a try. Too bad there was'nt a lubrication port on the Y valve, accessing mine is really tough. When this one goes I will get the marelon or bronze. Thanks for the tips!

Joe...If you already have significant scaling in your hoses and valves, you may need to be more aggressive than vinegar. Muriatic acid pumped into the lines is the way to go. Then...once you are clear...you can use vinegar for maintenance.
