Perkins 108 flywheel count

Hoping someone may know how many flywheel teeth a Perkins 108 engine has. Reason is I am installing a new tach that is driven by a magnetic pick up and need to set the tach dip switches according to a flywheel teeth count table. I have the owners engine manual but it it doesn't contain all the info of a workshop manual. There may not be one definitive answer, and a friend tells me we can do it with a strobe, but I would prefer to know the correct numbr of teeth, if possible.
Hope you can help.

The parts manual doesn't give the tooth count either.

FWIW, the part with the teeth is called the "Starter Ring", part #0410277 and is part of the "Flywheel and Starter Ring Assembly", part #41112744.

Also FWIW, the drawing of the Starter Ring Assembly appears to have about 88 teeth total, but this may not be accurate at all.

Good luck,

Bill

Thanks Bill. The tach program chart gives choices of 90 thru 160 teeth, so maybe that approx 88 count you suggested is the 90. In any event I'll try it, otherwise guess I'll go with the strobe.
