Are you sure the display is dead? Did you check the wiring? You can often order just the LCD display, so you don't have to replace the knotmeter transducer, since some are not compatible with newer display heads.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I went to my boat and found out I have a Signet KnotLog, anyone ever replace the LCD in one of these things or know if you can replace it from Signet for their knot logs? Thanks!

Did you take it out and check the wiring connections in the back? I've got a loose connection and occasionally have to re-tape it. Its not too common for an LCD to just go dead and be blank, thats indicative of a wiring or electronic problem. If the screen goes bad, you will normally start to see numbers go missing, or it will fade, first.

SailorMitch will become famous soon enough
Signet is still in business if you need parts. After you check the obvious (e.g., wiring) may be worth giving them a call. http://www.signetmarine.com/

Signet displays are not difficult to swap out - they simply plug into a multipin socket assembly.
The LCDs cost around $60US a few years back, we had one mailed across the border in a few days.

Be sure that you don't bend or break a pin when you insert it into its base.
