Interior: Plywood and Vinyl dilemma

I appreciated the assistance from the last question posed on the matter of plywood. In speaking to the folks in Windor, NC. The cost of the no void plywood for berths is prohibitive in the budget my boss (wife) has allocated from her business account. So, I am back to you all for another route. I have plenty of expoxy 5050 to cover the whatever plywod I use.

Second, the vinyl interior is shot. I am removing today and will begin removing the glue residue with acetone, then sand down. Is there a faster way to get the surface ready for either painting or replacing vinyl.

Thanks
Tom

I have been told that Xylene works much better than acetone for removing contact adhesive from between headliner and plywood. It does not evaporate so fast as acetone.

there are also some solvents specifically designed to remove adhesives that are even less volatile and longer working.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Rockter will become famous soon enough
You will regret, and regret badly, using non-marine plywood. Given time, the cheaper stuff will probably delaminate, and it will look like an old cardboard box.

I found the Dutch and Israeli stuff to be good.

The original Tiawanese stuff delaminated at 15 years old (15 years ago). Now, 15 years on from that, the replacement stuff looks like the day it went in there.

Rockter-
Given that the piece he's looking to build is an interior piece, not in the bilge, and he's planning to thoroughly coat it in epoxy... I don't think that delamination of the plywood will be an issue, especially if he uses an exterior grade of plywood, which uses a waterproof adhesive.

The primary difference between marine plywood and a good grade of exterior plywood is primarily the thinner plies used in the marine plywood, and the fact that marine plywood has no voids and fewer imperfections.

Given that... I don't see a problem with using a good grade of exterior plywood to make the berths.
