yeah man. She has the classic lines. Always reminds me of swan sitting on the water with wings tucked when she is at anchor. I wax poetic. Someone buy my boat quick, before I decide to keep her!

sailing single handed you want your weight forward, you do not want to drag the stern through the water. i would not change the tiller, bad idea.

I just recently shortened the tiller on our TS18 ..after sailing it for a year and asking other club members and then only by about 3".

With it the length it was I had a merry dance each time I put the tiller over during a high-speed tack, 'cause I'd get stuck between the tiller end and the traveller.

41" is a sizeable tiller and shortening it (by a small amount) is no big deal - just cut, sand, paint and then fit a longer tiller extension purchased from your nearest friendly chandler.

Tougher to steer with your leg or feet with a shorter tiller.
