Possible new hull laminate material?

I just read an article on ZDNet regarding a new plastic material made from layers of nanoparticle-based sheets. Seems like in the not too-distant future, carbon-fiber over nomex or foam will be old tech. Somehow, though, I don't think that "classic yacht" regattas in 2057 or so will have fans oogling over FRP or kevlar hulls.

Lots of materials make ZDNet, but never make it as a commercially viable material or product. I think we need to wait until we see if it actually becomes as a viable marketable product.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Remember the stuff that made the cover of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science? By now we should all be flying to work in our personal gyrocopters looking forward to a weekend up at the moon colony...

Gee Andy, you didn't get your rocket pack yet? Only $250,000 from Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana. Maybe instead of having the boat professionally painted with Awlgrip....
