Spinnaker Sheets
I can't for the life of me remember the general rule as to how long spinnaker sheets should be? Was it 1 1/2 times the LOA or is it twice?

How long they are is a function of how your boat is set up with turning blocks, cleats, etc. and the sheeting system you are using. You won't know until you get out there, pop the kite and see how much you need. Cameron
At least twice the length of your boat.

My spin sheets are 65 feet long and my boat is 30 feet.

Mine are 85 feet on a 40' boat.

65 feet on a 30 foot boat, 85 feet on a 40 foot boat. Looks like you double the length of your boat and add 5 feet.

Thanks for all the reply's....so as a general rule double the length plus add five or ten for the tail. Thanks

The rule of thumb used to be twice the length of the boat plus one times the beam. The idea being that you can drop the spinnaker down the companionway and still have it in the pole and near the winch.
