I would try some STA-LUBE Engine Assembly Lube before any thing else.
I think most marine lubes a for anti-seize purpose and not extreme pressure or lubrication.
Part # SL3331 will get you a squeeze tube with 10 oz of a black Molly graphite, lithium based grease good for all metal to metal contact.
It even says it's water resistance is excellent.
About $6.00 at NAPA.
Yes, It is black so keep it away from the sails but if you wipe off the excess it won't drip on anything.
