VC Tar2 Comments?

I'm thinking about putting an epoxy barrier coat on the hull of my Catalina. I've used VC 17 bottom paint for several years and it seems to be an excellent choice here on the Great Lakes.

Interlux recommends their VC Tar2 as the compatible barrier coat to be used under the VC 17. I've seen it being applied and the process, although requiring several coats, looks pretty easy.

I heard negative comments on the product from a local marina...they said it doesn't stick very well and that they've seen get rubbed off by the straps when launching. Maybe that was VC Tar1?....I dunno.

Would like to hear from anyone with experience with this product / thanks

Why would the VC Tar be rubbed off by the lifting straps? It's supposed to be under the VC 17 bottom paint.

I've used it for several fresh water applications and think its great. read the application and curing instructions.

I put 4 coats of epoxy resin on my bottom for a barrier coat.
