battery performance

I may have battery problems and need an expert. I have two Trojan 8Ds for house use, giving me 432 A/H. Last weekend the system went down to 12.14 volts and was only 150 A/Hs down and my refrigeration started to have trouble starting with the low voltage. I think I should be able to use 216 A/Hs (50% of capacity) before getting low voltage problems, right, otherwise why carry the extra weight of an 8D? Or maybe I''m missing something, here.

battery performance

Hi
You must remember that when a motor starts up, it requires 3-5 times as much current. Therefore, it is imperative that the battery voltage remain high. Also, there is an inherent discrepancy in all meter readings from 2-5 %, depending at what point of the scale the needle is reading the meter.
