Metal Plate
Hey All,
Can anyone give me a idea of what this mysterious metal plate on the side of the hull below the waterline is? It penatrates through the hull with electrical studs and terminals bolted to them on the inside. I just purchased a 30' Irwin Citation project and was curious as to what it was. It's approx. 3"W by 4"L. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you have an SSB radio or did at one time that is an SSB ground plate is my guess...usually made of sinctered bronze and called a dynaplate. Kinda looks like this?

Thanks a million! with the pic you attached I'm almost 99.9% sure that's what it is. There is also an antenna mount at the top of the mast! If it's ok I'll take some pics tomorrow of what it looks so you can verify. Thanks again!

At 3" x 4", it is a bit small to be a lightning ground plate, since the recommendation for a lightning ground plate is to have at least four linear feet of edge.
